The purpose of the Islander E.S.L. Scholarship is to increase the cultural diversity of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi through scholarship funding. It will provide financial assistance to those students whose first language is not English and who have completed English as a Second Language course through the ESLi Program here at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi.
The scholarship will award up to a maximum of $1,000 per year to aid meritorious students. Scholarship funds will be applied towards student's tuition and fees.
Students must also meet and maintain the following requirements:
Must complete an English as a Second Language Course.
Must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA at TAMUCC or above and be in good standing with the university.
Must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student.
Must be accepted into a degree program at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi.
The scholarships are limited to one degree for students. In other words, undergraduate students are eligible to receive the scholarship for a maximum of four years, master’s students are eligible to receive the scholarship for a maximum of two years, and doctoral students can receive the scholarship a maximum of six years. No extensions will be granted moving forward.
