Private or 'outside' scholarships are those funds that are not awarded through the University. We have highlighted several private scholarship programs below, though we acknowledge that there are numerous scholarship opportunities available that are not noted on our web site. Please see the items below for more information.
Congratulations on being a scholarship recipient! Monies provided through outside scholarships should be sent to the Office of Student Financial Assistance. Their offices will post the scholarship to your student account 7-10 days prior to the first day of class. We also ask that you have the donor complete our Scholarship Donor Form.
Federal grants and loan eligibility is determined by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA). The Office of Student Financial Assistance processes these applications and awards students according to their financial need.
When searching for and applying for outside scholarships, please use caution and be aware of potential scams. We do not recommend applying for scholarships which require application fees. To report scams or learn more information, call the Federal Trade Commission toll free 1.877.FTC.HELP (1.877.382.4357).
